"Surprised it took this long to be reviewed!"
Pros: Price, Removable Battery, Bluetooth, Screen, additional mem thru SD card.
Cons: "Insignia" stigma, trade off of screen size and phyical dimensions
Summary: Here on Dec. 19, this Insignia Pilot has finally been reviewed. I'm completely surprised that this item has taken this long to make the rounds here on CNET.com. I must say that I do not own this model, but from what I've seen at the Best Buy stores, after extensive testing -- seems like BB has a terrific item on their hands.
Easy, drag & drop interface, file list view, expandable memory to 16GB flash with a Secure Digital High Capacity SDHC disk. What other media player offers this kind of expandability aside from Sandisk's Sansa.
For the low price of $150, this thing has the Apple iPod, Microsoft Zune and others beat in terms of value.... and to those looking for a new MP3 player for the holidays - with expandability options, then the Insignia Pilot 4 or 8 GB model should be on your list.
The only downside is that player accessories is pretty much non-existent, but the same is true for the Zune, and Sansa players. But probably even more so because this is strictly a Best Buy brand -- the only thing available is an workout armband through DLO though.
Still, all in all - spec wise and for the dollar - excellent value.
