Pros: 2gb, fm radio, voice recorder, image viewer
Cons: um...uh...um...it feels really light in your hand???
Summary: my samsung yp-u2j took a crap on me so i decided to get a new mp3 player. i shopped around at several stores checking prices and features of several brands. then i went into best buy and found this little gem. it has everything i was looking for. 2gb of memory, fm radio, equalizer setings, image viewer, and a rechargable battery. i have had this for a few months now and it has performed beautifully. it had everything i wanted and at a $100 price tag. check it out if you want a lot of features for not much money.

"good cheap player for young ones" on by momto2boys
Pros: easy enough for a 6 year old to use, expandable
Cons: not mac-friendly, difficult to find video formats that work
Summary: I bought this for my 6 year-old son to listen to music and play short cartoons on to keep him occupied in the car, at a restaurant, etc. He seems to be able to navigate the menus just fine. It took a while to find videos that the software could convert, but TivotoGo seems to work just fine. I bought a set of kid-friendly headphones with volume control and he's happy as a clam.

"Stylish, Great Value, Great player" on by nszlufik
Pros: Great Style, Great scratch resistant mini-screen, menu organization.
Easy to use, lightweight, drag and drop music files is easy,
Durable, RELIABLE, replaceable rechargeable battery,
FmTuner, Photo viewer (remember, screen is tiny tho)Cons: This mp3 player is not produced any anymore!!!
Also, only 1 speciically designed case sold by Best BuySummary: An awesome overall player with all the capabilities a normal person uses an MP3 player for at a cheap price. If only they still made this player! Check out amazon or froogle and buy it otherwise check out the Sansa Clip which is very comparable except without as nice of a screen as the insignia.

"Review Incomplete w/o Mention of Bookmarks" on by TomBrooklyn
Pros: Does it have bookmarks?
Cons: Does it have multiple bookmarks?
Summary: The above review is incomplete and highly flawed because it makes no mention of bookmarks, the single most important feature for those that want to listen to audiobooks.

"Works very, very well but firmware has glitch, clumsy buttons" on by guerm
Pros: sound quality, screen layouts and visual quality
Cons: resets settings when you plug it in, play button should be convex
Summary: Users who don't like the buttons are right, if you're not careful when hitting play/pause you will skip to the beginning or the next song. Not a big deal, except when you're listening to a 40minute podcast and need to pause it after your 20minute commute.
The thing that did it in for me was that when I plug it in, I lose all the settings. All the FM presets, the custom EQ, my display preferences, etc.
I called Insignia and they claimed that this must be a bad unit, so I returned it for another. Same behavior, so I am returning it and buying the slightly larger Samsung YP-T9
