"Great feature set for the $, but some issues as well"
Pros: Cheapest bluetooth player out there, expandability with SD slot
Cons: Poor file navigation features, "Cheap" feel with some slop in buttons/controls
Summary: All in all this is a great player for the money. I was looking for a player to use at the gym with my bluetooth stereo headphones. This was by far the cheapest alternative.
I'm very happy with the size and control layout. The controls may take a little time to get used to, but after a week or so they become fairly intuitive.
I noticed that the display model I first examined had a very "sloppy" feel to the control wheel. It was clearly nearly broken in the store.
I purchased a unit and also felt that the control wheel was slighty loose / sloppy. 26 days later I had a button failure and had to return the unit.
One plus is that you can return the unit directly to bestbuy for a replacement w/in the manufacturers warranty period. No need to send it out, and wait for a return. My second unit feels much tighter, but we'll see.
I'm fairly unhappy with the navigation features. I can't sort or go directly to a directory. When I attempt to browse files by "Author" they appear in a random / nonsensical order. This is problematic when listening to Audiobooks in MP3 format, as I often need to sort through all tracks, (books, music, podcasts) on the player in order to get the audiobook tracks I want, in their appropriate order.
I haven't tried video or photo on the unit. The need to convert both for viewing via the proprietary software keeps me from attempting to do so. Also...I purchased the unit solely to listen to music and/or other audio formats.
All in all...it has an amazing feature set for $49.00. I spent an additional $20 for a 4 GB memory card and now have a 6 GB player for short of $70. Truly a steal.
Sound quality is great, although I didn't even unwrap the included ear buds, as I already have a set I prefer.
Good Luck with your Shopping!!!
