"Finally: An Excellent Alternative to the iPod" on by cweider

Pros: Small size, gorgeous screen, more features, easy to navigate, Battery life, FM

    Cons: No Audible.com support

Summary: Wow, I'm an iPod owner, and this little device blew me away! It came in yesterday and the coworker (also an iPod owner) who watched me unbox it immediately said "I'm getting one." upon seeing it.
The screen is MUCH more vivid and detailed than my iPod. Add in FM with auto-tune, line/mic recording, downloadable flash games, 5-band custom EQ in addition to the SRS & WOW, and daily wallpaper & themes that automatically change and it makes the iPod look very "legacy". It sounds great and syncs identically ala iPod/iTunes.
The cradle is a "must have", it looks adorable; just like a miniature TV set w/ stereo speakers and it also includes an IR remote.
Everyone that I've shown it to wants one. You need to see it in person as it's much, much smaller than it appears in pictures without any size references.
I've never bothered looking much past the iTunes/iPod combo until the launch of Urge/WMP11. The Clix coupled with the former software & service make an unbeatable combination for those looking for unrestricted access to a HUGE library of music.
Oh, by the way, order the Clix from iriveramerica.com and look for the coupon code (1PX100) to get free Sennheiser PX100 headphones along with the Clix.

Overall, the Clix is HIGHLY recommended!!

"Extremely nice - small - sexy (and useful!) multimedia player" on by mandelorapido

Pros: Breathtaking and original design, bright and colorful screen, easy to control, a lot of features

Cons: 2 GB may not be enough.

Summary: The first thing you'll notice when you open the nice box is the Clix design: Oh my God it's so small!! So cool, so beautiful!
Don't get me wrong, the iPods are really nice players, but to be honest, this Clix beats them in sexiness and cool appereance.

You really have to take a look at one Clix to see how cool this little player is. Pictures don't make justice to it. The design is really nice, it's small, it's light and its screen is clean, bright and colorful. And beside the design, the features of this player are also great.

The Clix has a different approach than the rest of mp3 players with its original design. The controls are quite different, but work flawlessly with the player. The synchronization with the computer is easy and fast using WMP11. The video playback is really nice (even if it's 15 fps, it's enough for musical videos, tv series, cartoons, etc.). The video conversion, although not automatic, it's easy enough using the Iriverter software (available on iRiver homepage). The ability to read Text documents is a handy addition. Pictures slideshows work fine, with the ability to play music while watching the pics. FM radio may be helpful (not for me really), as well as the voice recording. And the games are cool enough to expend some time (Sudoku is great!).

The sound quality is really good (I must admit that I'm not an expert on audio anyway).

One cool feature is the ability to create quick playlist on the go; it's really easy (click and hold on a song and then an option menu appear, where you can add it to the playlist).

I have to test yet battery time, to see how's the player's performance in this area.

Another thing: because this player is so nice, you will be always cleaning the screen from fingerprints. It's a good idea to get a screen protector (like the one available in the accesories set, or like those from Clarivue).

Anyway, in my opinion this Clix is one of the better players I've seen. The features are great, but the design is truly breathtaking. It's good to see different and original designs on mp3 players that show that there's life beyond the iPod.

    "It gets a 9.9999999!" on by cubed201

Pros: FABULOUS screen and easy navigation, small, superb battery life, support for pretty much all formats, packed to the gills with features

Cons: Only 2 gigs but this is really only a con if you want to have your entire collection of music with you at all times. This is almost overcome by the fact that you can tune to local radio stations.

Summary: I have had them all, iPods, Archos, Rio Carbon, creative muvo and zen, but i must say that this tops them all. Its ultra portable but the screen still somehow seems big, bright, and detailed. there are all of the features you would want -- support for numerous music formats, FM Tuner, video, photos, and even flash games (blew me away when it came preloaded with SUDOKU!!!!). it even has cool little features like changing the background depending on what day of the week it is.. and oh you can record from the radio on the fly so if you hear a new song on the radio you can record it then and there! i really cant say enough about the screen and the wonderful resolution it has and the text looks crisp and clear. i really want to give this a ten but i have SOOOO much music. However, 2 gigs gives me just enough so that i can have all my favorite cds along with me. i can go on a road trip or business trip, put the clix on shuffle and never hear the same song twice for the entire trip which is great.

"It just works - and looks better than the iPod" on by Vhyperion

Pros: Sharp, bright screen, compact, innovative controls, nice feel

Cons: No armband in box; no WMV support

Summary: I just got my Clix and I'm hooked. These screenshots don't even begin to do it justice. It's snappy, has album art, a "Now Playing" view, can create a playlist on the fly, and even has a voice recorder and flash gaming built-in.

I loved my ipod but the nano was too small, flimsy feeling in my hand. This one feels like a freshly waxed car with substance.

"Better than IPod" on by bcaulder

    Pros: Easy interface

Cons: 12 months too late to market

Summary: Let me give you several reason why this is better than an IPod.

    1. Janus capable. I have Yahoo music ($60 for 12 months when I got it) and I get whatever I want - even if I am not sure if I will like the tunes. Untill IPod gets subscription based - this is a better MP3 Player. Period.

    2. Its tiny - not a thin as a Nano but so much smaller. Better battery life too.

    3. Your mother doesn't have one. If you're like me and don't want the same thing everyone else has, but want something awsome... this is it.
