"Provided Earphone jack does NO match"
Pros: Beguiling look
Cons: Need a third party earphone (if that fits...) will it last a month?!
Summary: After the software installation, I tried to insert the earphone (duh, it's an audio player). The provided jack does NOT go all the way in hence the play back alternates between mono and stereo. More than furious at iRiver, I am on CNET's blind reviewer. After all, their 8.7 rating made me place order. CNET be brave, return the bribe, and review again if you want people TRUST you. I have to keep pressing the jack in, in order to hear the play back. Is that something you call Excellent?! Shame on you CNET. Shame on you. Earn my trust. Try again.

I use both Sennheiser PX200 headset and MX500 earbuds with no issues. Perhaps it's an issue with your funky headset.

The jack is definitely snug, however, that is a very good thing, not a negative.

I have it and dont have this problem.. it's unfortunate you didnt try and return it for a new one before you blasted it in a review therby lowering its overall score.

Have you tried calling the service dept or asking the people you bought it from? It seems to be an obvious defect if the earphone jack didn't match the provided earphone...
