"Good quality player , some wierd things"
Pros: sound quality , size , colour lcd , recording,pictures , 30 presets, radio
Cons: acts up sometimes, headphone jack , touch pad not that sensitive but can change
Summary: I recently recieved a refurbished iriver h10 20 gb. It has excellent sound quality , a nice colour lcd screen, recording ability , and picture viewing. However , there are a few annoying things that get in the way of an 8 rated player that quite simply could be a 9 rated player. First off , its for xp owners only(most don't care..) and one MUST use windows media player v10.0. This is rather annoying that one cannot just drag into a folder. This messes up the player as its hard to make a single folder just for albulms and a single folder for singles. The touch screen in the beggining is fairly slow. However , if you read the manual, it tells you to HOLD YOUR FINGER on either the up or down arrows to go fast. This isn't an ipod where u keep on moving your finger endlessly. The hard drive is also weird. Since i have like 8 gigs full , it normally takes 2-3 seconds before the song actually plays after i select it. If your buying a non-refurbished iriver , i'm sure this has been solved w/ the new firmware , but i'm guessing iriver are lazy bast-ards and won't post new firmware on their website... THe photo veiwing is ok. Wish you could zoom in or something. ONly supports jpgs so this is where you put your albulm art. Again , the good points are that it is rather small , easy controls, good sound quality, and radio. The bad parts are slow hd on v1.0 , no zoom on picture viewing , mandatory use of wmp10,no detachable battery.
