"Slick, small, and cool player"
Pros: Beautiful color screen, cool design, voice recorder, FM radio and recorder, removable battery
Cons: Takes a bit of work to get it working correctly out of the box
Summary: This player has a very cool design, a sleek mini look that doesn't look "chic"
(like the iPod mini and Creative Zen micro).
Its controls a very easy for me (just had to bump the scroll speed up a notch), you can move your thumb up and down the touchpad for fast scrolling or tap the arrows to move up or down one place in the menus.
The voice recorder is awesome; it has a clear sound and records in mp3 format, unlike the Zen Micro which records as a large WAV file.
The FM radio had good reception on all stations in my area, unlike the radio in my Rio Chiba that had static on a couple stations.
The feature that really sets this player apart from the other minis is the color screen. It looks very crisp, and the first comment someone has when they see my H10 is, "Ooh, a color screen!"
A reason to get this over an iPod is that you have more choices to buy music from. buymusic.com has singles for $.79 and Walmart.com has all songs for $.88.
On the downside, it did take some work for me to get it working correctly out of the box. My suggestion: upgrade the firmware (found at www.iriveramerica.com) BEFORE you put any songs on. The new firmware fixes the order the songs play in. Songs will play in album order if you go to "Artist"->"Album." Once the songs are loaded, do a database refresh in the "Extra" settings.
It's definitely a perfect choice for someone looking into cool minidrive players, Napster to Go, or an alternative to the iPod mini.
