The built-in microphone is able to record up to 45 hours of voice directly as MP3. The rechargeable battery just goes on and on and supplies up to 12 hours of continuous playback. There is also a wide range of player accessories sold separately to guarantee perfect sound enjoyment from iriver.

Great player.....by Carnsucks - September 5, 2006
Pros: Great sound, battery life, easy to navigate, Removable battery
Cons: Freezes, audio hissing
Review:
This was a great mp3 player, it had soild construction and audio quality was great. Battery life is spectular. It freezes often when trying to view photos will listeining to music. The battery is removable so reseting is easy. A month ago I had hissing noises when listening, so I have to send it back to the company.

Pros: Good sound, when it works
Cons: Software is horrible to maintain.
Review:
Customer service is pathetic. They won't take it back and keep me on the phone trying to correct the software, but it never is fixed. Don't even consider an I-River product.

Fabulous sounding player - great for gym rats!by rschechner - June 16, 2005
Pros: Great sound, color screen, 3.4 oz (a smidge bigger than the RIO carbon), solid feel, fabulous equalizer settings, worked perfectly with Yahoo music, don't need to "safely" remove before disconnecting
Cons: Side controls, screen goes totally blank after 1--3- seconds, no album art displayed (unless you cut them directly from CD's)
Review:
I've tried the 4th generation IPOD mini, RIO Carbon, & Archos Gmini 200. I purchased the Iriver because of compatibility with the new Yahoo Music Engine ($59 to use all the songs you'd ever need for one year). It worked as calimed but what I didn't expect was truly superior sound quality versus previos mentioned players. Truly a "click" better at all bitrates and an amazing variety of equalizer settings that will keep you busy trying them out on the excercise bike. Very easy to make playlists with Windows Media 10 and the player synchs new media in seconds. Very sturdy with no skipping on my 1st 5-mile run. Iriver really seems to know what they're doing here. If you can handle a player a bit bigger in size & weight, get the 20GB for a few extra bucks!
