"No one really mentioned this thing can play VIDEO ! ! !"
Pros: Can play avi video, view pictures, view txt files, record inline, record through the internal microphone or an external microphone, can put anything on it because its a hard drive!
Cons: no great cases to protect it like the ipod has but there is one you can get and modify to fit the player
Summary: First you have to upgrade your player with international firmware like 1.27K or 1.28K (go to misticriver.net to find firmware).

Cons: Superficial stuff: Could have used curved edges or something.
Summary: Although I'm not unfamiliar with other brands as many of my friends own them, the iRiver H340 is the first sole MP3 player that I've purchased. Anyway, It's been a week now since I've owned it, so here's my full unbiased assessment of the device:

"Makes IPod Look Like a 1960s Computer"
Pros: Color LCD Screen, Customizeable playlists, shows pictures, huge hard drive, can view text files, great sound quality, extremely clear reception on the radio. It doesn't require music subscriptions for music, it operates as a hard drive without software an
Cons: Only a few things, which are minor. It would be nice if the player had video features in future firmware upgrades like the reported European versions. It does take a few seconds to load at the startup screen, but not 5-20 minutes like these other goofs ha
