"Been Looking for This" on
Summary: Been in the market for a portable mp3 player and have done my fair share of research into which would be the best for my needs. That being said, I was looking for a compact flash player, with good memory, good battery life, that would be great for use at a gym, and had an FM receiver. Let me just say that this product has it all and then some. Some will be disappointed with the lack of an expansion slot, but it is not needed. Has 128 MB of Flash Memory, a useful display screen, 20 hours of playback on 1AA battery (from specs), a solid amp., quality earbuds, and voice AND RADIO recording. It is simple, yet has tons of features; a device that simply disappears in your pocket, has a good file manager, and fast file transfers via USB 1.1. Compared to the new Rio S50 and the Samsung Yepp, it is a better bargain as it has all if not more of the features at a cheaper price.

"Great Advertised Package" on
Summary: I found the player to be very attractive for its various features. The FM tuner works as well as I expected with decent reception but sketchy in some places. The recorder works well after getting used to the controls. The biggest gripes however deals with the supposed battery life(spec'ed at 20 hours, but at sound level 11 I would guess I get about 12 hours) , lack of a belt clip(arm strap, etc..), short corded earphones(which were uncomfortable as well), the bass was horrible. Bass Boost merely increases the distortion on songs. i'm looking for alternatvies like the creative muvo 128mb, which unfortunately doesn't have the long list of features but does offer an easier user output when transfering music as well as much clearer sound. *(I returned a 64mb version for the ifp-180t.)
