"Excellent - Stop Searching and Get it!" on by jovig

Pros: Excellent Sound, Loud Enough and Customizable

Cons: Armband & Protective Case too small

Summary: I have been evaluating several players for the past month. All have their issues, small display or no display, small buttons, not loud enough, poor sound quality and no customizable features.
This one HAS IT ALL! Sound is great and very loud without distortion.

    About Sound
Provides several predefined EQ genres (rock, metal, etc.).

Predefined EQ can be turned off so that you can scroll through only the ones you like – pretty neat!
Extreme EQ and 3D EQ provide a great depth in the sound and offer custom EQ settings.

    Other Features
customizable scanning speed, scrolling text speed and direction, etc...
FM Tuner is great and sounds good.
Auto Scan, Manual Scan for 20 presets.
No EQ available in FM mode.

Several other features such as auto-recording of an FM station, Alarm, Backlight time out up to 30 minutes, Sleep and Stop auto-power off, voice and line-in auto detect recording, and much more…

    About Removable Drive Compliancy
Using the latest Firmware (USM v1.28), this beauty connects to your PC as a removable drive.

I could have given it a 10, but because of the supplied accessories, I revised my score. But hey! I did not buy accessories, I bough a player, and this is an excellent one!

    Units Compared
Beats Creative TX and muvo mini, Sandisks Rio and iPod Shuffle. My only regret is not having tested the Samsung YP-MT6X (but I might just do that anyway!).

"An all-in-one perfect mp3 prioduct" on by misaacdavis

Pros: Can record voice listen to the radio, record via and input, great folder organization, alarm clock

Cons: none that i can think of

Summary: As a student i can sit far away in the sneter of a 800 student class and the lecture comes out crystal clear. I have used the input to tape my friends play in their band at a bar it it sounds as if it was taped in a studio. Software easily converts tapings to mp3's and you can select the quility of the taping. It also allows you to slow down and speed up music. Try listening to a rap song when it is sped up. It even has an alarm clock so you can use it as an alarm and wake up to your favourite tune. I don't think i have ever made a better investment into a product in my life. Also unlike an I-Pod this machine actually turns off.

"Best mini mp3 player around" on by newpl

Pros: Lots of functions, battery life, fm tuner

    Cons: small armband, power buttons.

Summary: This is the best portable mp3 player around. Lots of functions and options. Decent fm tuner and the battery life is incredible. The unit was left on for 3 continuous days roughly 72 hours and still had some charge left. I had a Rio unit and used one battery for around 8 hours before it died. Have an apple ipod mini and will return it because this unit is all I need. With 512mb of memory, it holds roughly 120-150 songs. Why would you need more than that at one sitting. Plus it uses a standard mini usb connector to sync and can be used as a digital recorder, record fm, and usb storage.

Now the bad stuff. Like everyone says, the armband is ridiculously small. There's no belt clip and the interface is NOT intuitive. Another annoyance is to turn on and off the unit is hold the play button down. If you put the unit in your pocket, you can inadverently turn on the unit without knowing. That's how I know the battery lasted for 3 days straight. To get around this, I'm making a habit of using the hold switch all the time.

Overall a great unit though. Highly recommended.

"Great product, great battery life, sounds great too!" on

Pros: I bought this player after researching all the hard drive MP3 players. Decided I didn't need 5,000 songs, moving parts, and an internal battery that progressively holds a charge for less and less time. All the reviews for iRiver products were favorable an

Cons: 1.software a little slow 2. might have trouble with OGG files 3. it looks so cool and sounds so good everyone wants to see it and hear it (hmmm...maybe this is a product pro and not a con)

    "I-Pod Killer" on

Pros: Compact, great sound, great battery life, flash storage which is best for excersing. Software is very easy to use, but you can also use Windows Media to synch songs to this MP3. Well worth the $129 I paid at Circuit City.

Cons: Why not include the better armband that iriver provides? Also had some issues with protected WMAs, but using Windows Media to synch to my 795 solved that problem.
