"Small flash player with surprising sound"
Pros: Small size, bright and easy to read display, bundled headphones
Cons: controls could more intuitive
Summary: Don't let the small size fool you, this device can rock.
Feels solid and well built. Powered by a single AAA battery that keeps you from having to worry about how long the batteries will last. The display is bright and easy to read. Plays many different file formats. Uses USB 2 to connect to PC. Files can be moved using Windows Media Player 10 or using bundled software. Files move quickly from PC. The unit can be loaded in just a few minutes.
The 6 buttons used to control the device leave something to be desired, not intuitive whatsoever. After a few days you may get used to them. The buttons offer a solid but muted click and the unit responds quickly to your input.
Voice recording is not one touch, but the quality is respectable.
This player really shines when to comes to the sound. Rich, clear and loads of bass. I was shocked at how good the bundled headphones sounded. Sounds much better than most MP3 players I've tried including most of the ipods.
While not the best deal at $149, you're paying a premium for the small size.
