"fragile screen a big problem"
Pros: Well Featured - Easy to use and operate
Cons: Fragile screen broke after only a few weeks of careful use.
Summary: Just waiting to see if Iriver replace the unit under warranty. The screen fractured after only a few weeks of minimal use. Leads one to query whether it can go the distance of normal wear and tear and if the product is fit for purpose for the intended user group. The retailer then tried to palm us off onto I-Rivers agent, because they were afraid that they might get stuck with the cost of investigating the breakage by the agent. Iriver's one year warranty requires the player to be returned to the point of purchase. Not a satisfactory arrangement for warranty. Time will tell if I-river duck and weave the faulty product issue and refuse to replace.Updated
After a lengthy run around, refusal by the Australian agent to replace the screen under warranty (we dont fix broken screens), and finally muscleling of Iriver's agent by the retailer who was finally able to persuade them of the error of their ways, the unit was replaced under warranty.
Before purchasing any Iriver product I suggest you read their warranty exclusions from their global website. They read.
"Neither iriver nor its third party suppliers make any other warranty or condition of any kind whether expressed or implied, with respect to the iriver products, and specifically disclaim the implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, satisfactory quality, and fitness for a particular purpose."
I think that tells purchaser where they stand regarding standing behind the quality of their product. Fortunately we have some consumer protection laws in Australia.Updated

I've had my x20 for only a few weeks and the screen has gone all white with some thick black lines. Like others commenting, I have been very careful with the mp3 player and not misused it in any way.
Not happy at all with this product. -
I bought one for my daughter 5 weeks ago and it lasted 4 weeks. She had looked after it and it still had the plastic shipping cover over the screen when it broke(and it had a skin!). The local agent charged me 55$ instead of 88$. The only reason I paid up was because she is going overseas next week. This is a warning the devices are not up to scratch and the warranty is useless.

Today I went out, had dinner, went to the arcade for a little bit but when I got on the train to go home I turned on my x20 and half the screen is whited out.
I'm about to start my own battle to get this fixed but my main problem comes from this: there was no misuse of the product and there was no accident to cause the screen to break. A blow to the side that would snap a screen is something I would recognise. Wish me luck.
