"For all those who had problems with this player" on by HerreraE
Pros: none, its perfect when it works
Cons: Its a great player
Summary: OK, for all those who had "Internal Memory Unknown format..." Issue, try this, wich really works:
Download the firmware of the player:
http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/support/default.asp?SupportSection=DigitalAudio
-Then, plug the USB cable to the player and to the USB port.
-THen, turn off the player, and press the volume selector and the "cursor control" both at the same time, and keep them holded, and the turn on the player (an "UPGRADER" text will be shown in the display)...
When the "UPGRADER" signal its shown in the display, release the buttons and run the firmware .exe, and let it work...
Thats all...your player is alive again.Updated
Hello to all!
Im glad to see that my tip was helpfull to you people. I think that for every MP3 theres some emergency procedure.
Some months ago, I had another problem with my M25 player, and the Motorola Support Team told me another way to give life again to the M25.
The problem happend when I was transferring songs to the internal memory and it run out of space. This time, the player was really dead, no error messages, no turning on, nothing.
I sent an email to M.S.T and they told me that I had to take off the battery, unplug the SD card (if it was present in the player when the error happened) and leave the player to rest for about two hours (the player makes and internal reformatting, they told me)...So I did that, and voila! the player was alive again
Cheers! -
"Excellent for audio books" on by dgrenker
Pros: Great audio book features, including bookmarking and resume. Great price.
Cons: Locked up - but easily fixed
Summary: This is a great MP3 Player for Audio Books. It will resume when turned off, and has 10 bookmark slots. The only minor issue is that the bookmarks do not indicate what file is bookmarked (i.e. they only say Bookmark 1, Bookmark 2, etc.) Otherwise excellent.
Mine locked up and would not turn on. However, tech support told me to remove the battery for two hours and, once I did so, the unit powered on fine. They really should put that tip in the manual and on their web site.
Otherwise, a great audio book player (and also a good music player), particularly for the price. -
"great for the price" on by somebullcrap
Pros: nice menus, lots of features, expandable mem, compact
Cons: battery life isn't the best
Summary: I got this device for under 100 bucks. At first I disliked it, I didn't understand the menus and using the stick to navigate. After a couple of days I thought it was great. The software that comes with it is great, again at first I hated it, but it has now replaced all my other software hands down for organizing and ripping mp3s. This is really a great device for someone who doesn't want to deal with much and wants to just easily load up and listen to whatever. If you are into changing EQs, playlists, recording FM, organizing your music, etc.. then you too will think this is great. It has a sleep timer too which helps when I go to bed listening to an audiobook. Also you can set bookmarks with ease. I only wish it had some sort of clip other than the band it came with, does anyone know someone who actually uses the arm band? I could see if you are working out but who has time for that? I am planning on getting a 1gb sd card, I will be able to load a ton of stuff.
