"This player /recorder is exceptionally good"
Pros: Sleek, full features, sounds good, records mp3s in stereo at 192k
Cons: Software interface, but can be ignored. Use 3rd party software.
Summary: It looks great on paper, now that the unit is up and running, it delivers on promises. I had to upgrade the firmware cause I bought a Best Buy closeout and proceeded to corrupt the firmware..(my fault) After getting it back from Cust Svce, San Diego, it has performed flawlessly. FM reception great, battery life good, small form, pretty, interface intuitive. It's seen as a usb mass storage device, so just drag and drop files quickly w/usb 2.0. The sound quality is decent through good headphones; plenty loud. Freezes very rarely. Had considered Creative and iRiver recorders, but they have their own idiosynchrosies. I hope this unit catches on so there will be more community support, forums to refer to. The office feature where you can read excel and word files hasn't been implemented yet, but MPIO promises future firmware upgrades. Their website is a little confusing, but they have been updating it. I feel like I got a bargain and really wanted this to work out. Highly recommended! After rereading this review, it almost sounds like a planted posting...it's not.
