"Review said it played playlists, it doesn't"

by btic on March 31, 2005

    Pros: small, nice looking

    Cons: no playlist support

Summary: well, I was disappointed to find out that although the cnet review said that playlists were supported, they are not. All files are arranged alphabetically. Also, you cannot scroll through files without playing them at the same time. So you cannot, say, browse through the music on your player to see what you want to play next, because the only way to see a song is to play it. Also, turning on the backlight causes a ringing in the headphones. A disappointing product in the end...

are you seriously nuts? you simply create a folder inside the player and bam there is your playlist, create as many folder/playlist as you need. just press down twice to "skip folder" omg you guys are idiots using third party software

I hope I got to this before you've done something harmful to your innocent muvo. As far as playlists go, I never mess with them, I like to keep things simple and just go with whatever order things are in. . . but all you have to do is make sure the songs are named and you can hit pause before you scroll through the songs. Just watch the screen for the name you want and hit play, again. It'll actually show the universal filled square symbol that means "stopped" while you are scrolling.

Is there an 512mb verison of it? and it seems that the price of this mp3 player is rising so you better get'em while they're cheap.

If you want to organize playlists you need a third party software package. I purchased Notmad from www.redchairsoftware.com/notmad. This is really great software that allows you to use your player anyway you want. It does cost $15, but well worth it.

you can make playlists if you use the software that came with your product... not some bootleg program
