"was great while it lasted" on by musicmaninAR
Pros: The sound was great, easy to use, long lasting battery.
Cons: Died after 5 months, well outside of the 90 day warranty, but still new enough for me to be upset about it. Used some rewards points to get it so I'm not out anything, but still, I expected a little better quality from Philips.
Summary: One of the most appealing 16gb mp3's out there for the money, but I just won't risk getting another one of these. Bought a Creative Zen to replace it, with a 1 year warranty :) I liked it for the brief period I owned it, but probably would not recommend this thing to a friend.

"Great Value 16gb for less than $60" on by Brianjr99
Pros: I have the 16gb version, and yes the controls are a little quirky but the sound is great. And the capacity is also excellent for the price.
Cons: Instruction mnanual is terrible, although the online support has improved to good. No references to PC connection in manual, default (mtp) did not work so had to change to MSC.
Summary: Live support is terrible but the online instruction(Videos) makes up for it. Excellent Value, Sound quality, Battery life and Capacity.

"Not bad but could be better" on by Jerryccnet
Pros: Plays movies well & ear buds are great.
Cons: PAINFULLY long time to convert movies!
Summary: The ARIA is a cost-effective alternative to the evil IPOD. It uses Windows Media to add music and the sound quality with the ear buds is great. The controls are not difficult once you get the hang of them. Be careful, if you do not look at the screen, you may accidentally delete your data. Philips needs to work on that.
I use mine to watch movies because they are not "jumpy" like I've seen on other players (IPOD). If you use AVI video files, the player can hold 10 or more movies. This brings me to the downside. The ARCSOFT conversion software takes HOURS to convert a movie! If you are patient, you will be rewarded. Overall, I recommend the ARIA to those of you who don't want to pay the exorbitant IPOD price & want a straightforward media player. I would buy the ARIA again.
