"Good Bang for your Buck" on by DSAhmed1

    Pros: 1. Sturdy, small.
    2. USB recharging battery.
    3. Intuitive, well organized interface
    4. Sleek design
    5. Plays videos/photos/FM Radio
    6. Built in sound recorder
    7. Has locking mechanism
    8. Power saving features
    9. Low price (i paid 39.99)

Cons: 1. Fast-forwarding is very slow (especially if you want to by-pass the first 10 minutes of a 20 min track)
    2. No belt clip (unlike SANSA)
    3. It comes with low quality, somewhat uncomfortable headphones.
    4. Very small screen
    5. Small buttons,

Summary: Although it plays videos, you have to convert it to a special format before uploading. Although it comes with the software, and its easy to use, its slow. I was converting a 700mb avi movie file, and it failed half way through.
although it only advertises wmv conversion, it will convert mpg and avi as well. Although after converting the file, they are much smaller in size, the screen is very small and low resolution.
The radio works surprisingly well, and it will automatically tune your presets.
The sound recorder only records up to 4 min at a time, and very low quality. Don't bother trying to record a lecture. Its good to record your grocery list though.
The battery life is good, and recharges with USB, and uploading your media is as simple as dropping files onto a flash drive.
Overall, its well worth the price.

"SA3025 - FAULTY PLAYER <60 DAYS OLD" on by WDG_Big_Cheese

Pros: Sound is very good considering the elevated lower freq response
    Looks high quality

    Cons: See "Bottom line summary"
You get what you pay for !

Summary: Shuts off on its own (battery charge OK)
Pauses (goes dormant) on its own (Again... battery charge OK)
Pauses then plays a song further in that then time indicates
Freezes in "on" mode - had to reset with paperclip
Freezes on "off" mode - again... had to reset with paperclip
Factory "Repair" performed to no avail
Headphone jack not good quality - bad contact feedback - (headphones are $200 studios so I know that's not the problem.)
    Small controls
    Smudges too easily
Toggle pad not sturdy - doesn't always respond
Playing just music, battery only lasts ~6 hours

Wife has larger 4 GB version (over one year old) and has had NO problems - very disappointing Philip !

"This MP3 player is a decent one for its price range." on by NightmareViper

Pros: Good quality sound, great size for portability, built in radio, decent for its price.

Cons: Needs the installation disc to connect to your computer properly (mine broke so now I can't update it via my desktop since we recenty got a new one), won't hold anymore than 1001 songs at a time, videos/photos aren't clear due to sceen size.

Summary: Over-all it's a decent MP3 player for its price, but the screen is a bit to small for the video feature, and one thing I disliked the most is that it won't hold anymore than 1,001 songs at a time, even if it has free space available. Another thing I dislike is that you can't view your photos while listening to music, and it doesn't display album art for the albums, but other than that, the sound quality is pretty good from what I noticed, and I've personalyl had no problems when connecting it to external speakers rather than headphones except that the volume didn't really get very loud, but quality was still pretty clear. If you're looking for an MP3 player with good sound quality in headphones for under $60, then I'd recomend this MP3 player while advising you to keep the 1001 song capacity in mind and the fact that the video player aspect is almost useless due to the size of the screen.

Also, if you do end up getting this player, try to keep your installation disk, because you'll need it to update and change songs on the player if you ever delete the Philips program off your computer after installing.

"This is one awesome mp3/video player" on by burchj43

Pros: It has a good screen & looks like it's competitor, the ipod nano. I believe is is superior to the nano

Cons: My only con is the earphone jack is in the bottom of the player, instead of the top

    Summary: Good, basic player
