"Great idea, not as well carried out"2.0 starson by mattisf
Pros: MP3 player and timer in one unit
Cons: Bad measurements, pricey, crappy software
Summary: I bought this player mostly because I read it was really accurate in it's measurements. Well. That wasn't true. I run the same route every time, and the faster I run, the shorter the distance gets according to the player. I've had it give me from 5.3 miles (at a slow run) to 4.8 miles (on a fast day). Needless to say, as a result, I don't trust the speed meter or distance meter very much. The timer seems to be right though. It's convenient to have a timer and an mp3 player in one package, but it's not really worth the $249 I paid for it...
I'm a software engineer, and I'd be embarassed if I had written the software that comes with this player. MusicMatch is alright, I suppose, but I made the mistake of trying to use the Philips/Nike software that comes as well. Slow and crash-prone, and just badly implemented.
In two years this might be a great product. As of now... Nah. A timer, a cheap mp3 player, a map and a ruler does a better job.
