Pros Great Niche to combine recordable AM/FM/MP3
Cons Poor Product Quality & Poor Customer Service
Summary Dear Mr. Kim,
I read your CNET review of the Am/FM/MP3 players.
I purchased a PoGo Product RYW 2 years ago and wanted to let you know that the product was great when it worked. Problem was with that company the product was overpriced and not very reliable.
In the course of 18 months it broke or quit working (example volume button would stick down and not come up when toggling it) 5 times. It was a process to send it back in and get it fixed. I tried speaking with a customer service representative about "options?" There were none other than send it in and they would fix it if under the limited warranty.
Eventually, they came out with a updated unit. I asked to pay the difference to upgrade - this was not possible with their company.
I eventually gave up and refuse to use the company again. The unit sits in my desk drawer broken forever.
I have spread the word as best I can, but I do not have the readership you do, I thought you may want to know for your journal.
Pros small and able to record well
Cons terrible AM reception, no sleep function, internal speaker is worthless ... should make unit larger with a bigger speaker ??
Pros Ability to record AM/FM broadcasts. Timer setting.
Cons This is NOT a Tivo for radio as I had hoped. It is more of a VCR. With a Tivo/ReplayTV you can 'time-shift', meaning that you can come into a program partially through and play from the beginnning while the 'live' program continues to record, then you c
Pros Great for catching AM talk shows unattended. AM reception fairly good. Best to leave the unit in a good location during recording.
Cons Very short battery life from AAA cells. No light for display. Very limited fast-forwarding capability. Pulling or inserting the AC power adapter plug during operation causes the unit to "reboot", haltin gany timed recordings in progress and losing its p
Pros Great little product for recording your favorite talk radio broadcasts.
Cons If you are looking for music recording... look elsewhere. Can playback MP3's but many better MP3 players are out there in the same price range. THIS IS FOR TALK RADIO FANS ONLY!
