Pros small and fairly easy to navigate good sound quality

Cons gets hung up alot . Won't even work in audiobook mode which is the main reason I bought it

Summary Although it seems user friendly, it rarely works. Gets hung up a the drop of a hat. First one wouldn't even turn on. Second wont play in audiobook mode and buttons seem like they won't last long. Should have spent the big bucks for a better mp3 player

Pros Worked well until it broke!

    Cons Worked well but Cheap.

Summary I bought two of these for my sons for Christmas. The functions aren't as easy to navigate as an Ipod, but they worked well and my kids loved them. After about one month one of them stopped working. As another user said, the menu button would not work. A month later the second one also broke after the menu button fell right off. The price is right ($50 @ Walmart) but they need to work out this problem.

  • "Faulty Product, could not give it a fair chance"
    on by fabmc

Pros Unable to ascertain as the menu did not function at all

    Cons Menu button

Summary The menu button on mine was not just slow and awkward (as previously reported) but actually did not work at all and eventually just fell out. Was never able to use it at all. The packing is such that it will be a real hassle to get it back for return so just chalk this one up as experience. Horrible! I am not a rough person, and this is a total piece of junk!!!!!!

  • "Not User Friendly"
    on by JBL is Junk

    Pros It is small.

Cons No display in sunlight. Can't delete songs.

Summary Here is my e-mail to RCA "customer support" in Malaysia:

I e-mail you about not being able to delete songs from my S2002, and get no reply.

I try to download new firmware, and the download link doesn't work.

I call (Malaysia) and am told that Read Only song files cannot be deleted. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard!

Then I'm told that if and when the download site ever works, I might be able to delete the songs with the new firmware.

I'm returning this piece of junk if I don't get satisfaction soon!

  • "my only issue"
    on by jjvohs

Pros sounds good, compact, nice features

Cons cant change tracks or anything else while stopwatch is running

Summary It's almost the ideal player, but I'm frustrated that its not possible to change track, adjust volume, change radio station -or anything while the stopwatch is running. So if you are trying to time yourself on a long run, you can't make any adjustments, because if you do - you have to leave "stopwatch mode", and after you change the song or adjust the volume or whatever, when you go back to the stopwatch its reset to zero. It's a bummer because the main reason I bought this was so I could listen to tunes while timing myself on long runs, and it is impossible to do that unless you never change the track or adjust the volume etc.
