"DONT BUY!! Unreliable!" on
Pros: Great storage size, great Rio DJ feature (auto mixes), great sound, nice screen size. The hard drive may be worth some money on eBay!
Cons: Huge tendancy to die on you. It will stop working and just have the hard drive click, then sputter, then shut down. This is a battery problem, but Rio's solution to it DOES NOT WORK. The support for this device is ATTROCIOUS. Do not buy thing, fore it wil

"No good!!!" on by pan223
Pros: Large display.. You dont need glasses to read it ...
Cons: Battery STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant understand customer service, Should hire people that can speak and understand English...Have to keep re-setting the unit
Summary: I just happened to be on C-Net and i looked up the Rio Riot ( Yes, It sure was a riot)....I picked up the unit back in 2002. The first week or 2 i had it it was no problems with it at all. Then came the whammy!!!...Battery power STINKS!! Customer service ????...LOLOLOL!!!! Another joke!!!! I cant say what i really want to here...After i had it about 6 months and i recieved no help at all and the unit will no longer take a battery charge i tryed to replace the battery...Another joke!! You have to send it back to the company. ( Cant open up the player yourself)...To make a long story short ,i tossed the Riot into the rubbish...It did not last 1 year. Never will i buy another product from Rio. Sorry for the bad review , but thats what happened

"I threw mine in the garbage" on by Jeff Nicholas
Pros: Holds down small stack of papers nicely
Cons: There isn't enough space to describe the cons
Summary: I bought my Rio Rio about 3 years ago, when it first came out. It has been a piece of trash ever since, and now is a genuine piece of trash because I threw it away. When it worked it was great, but continual battery problems made it a misery to use. Then when I tried to get customer support my next nightmare started. Rio has outsourced it's support to beautiful downtown Bangalore and I felt like I was talking to Apu from the Simpsons, except they didn't tell me "Thank you, come again." They have a couple of pat answers, which DO NOT WORK, and of course there is no US contact you can use to get some REAL help. I hope Rio, or whoever is producing these products now, goes bankrupt and you couldn't pay me to purchase another of their products.

"Product ok Customer support sucks" on
Pros: I did enjoy the player while it worked. Great capacity and sound.
Cons: When it didn't work I was just abandoned by Rio/Sonic Blue. No help by email or phone when I had problems. I will listen to AM radio before I will buy another product from this company.
