  • "Cheap Android Device, Expensive Media Player"
    3.0 stars
    on by The7arryIII

Pros: Cheap Android device (got one brand new for $140, including tax); costs less than an iPod nano
    Phone-like speaker/mic configuration
FM Radio (analog, as far as I can tell)
Expandable micro SD storage (up to 32 GB)
    Wolfson DAC

Cons: Not the best value as media player or as an Android device
The 320 x 480 LCD display has a strange optimum viewing angle
Touch response (input refresh rate) is just a little slow
The 2 MP camera isn't worth talking about
    Difficult to root

Summary: Note: the Galaxy Player 4.2 is the best device in the Galaxy Player line. The Galaxy Player 5.0 (minitablet) comes next, but it's not as pretty as the 3.6 or the 4.2 and doesn't have a user-replaceable battery.
