"I had to put my iPod touch down."5.0 starson by Kintwotothem
Pros: Fast download, takes very decent picture, takes good video, vibrant display, nice viewing size, video sound quality is good, expandable memory, missing a flash for the camera.
Cons: Sound quality for the mp3 player is not the best, Software for downloading is not the best and music player software could be better.
Summary: Bottom line I have no idea what CNET was trying to do here. Its not a phone so the review was pointless. I don't want your personal opinions I want to know how good or bad the product is.You really don't know what your talking about if your going by sound quality alone you would by an iPod touch. There are better MP3 players out there like the Zune. The review was comparing it to a Smart phone. That would be like comparing the iPod Touch to a iPhone or Kindle, that makes no since. Then he took the iPod out of the equation like he was scared to compare the two. Yes, in a few area's it has the Galaxy Player beat but as an owner of both aside from 1 app I use I have no more use for my iPod Touch. I have a smart phone but the player allows me to do things and not worry about the batter and missing an important call. When I don't have wifi and I need to shoot an email I go to my phone.Same as I used to do with my iPod. So if you don't own it why are you screwing up the ratings on something you have no real knowledge of.
After my purchase I found it very good.Yes there are somethings the iPod does differently but there are things is does not do. Since we have to compare it to an iPod touch 8g.iPod T is $30 less. Ipod T 8G has no mic, no GPS, no Radio and no expandable memory so from that point you just got your $30 back. The display in real life and if your not being a nut case about numbers, you will find the screens are about the same. As far as speed and the internet the Galaxy player is by far the best but the sound quality on the iPod is superior. The Galaxy Player won't hurt your ears but it lacking the same quality. Video and camera go to the Galaxy player. GPS works good but your going to need to download maps from a GPS app like sygic (its free). The camera on the iPod is a toy and while the Galaxy Player is not the best it is far, far better than the iPod. One takes images the other takes pictures. The Samasung does have a computer software organizer like itunes but I tunes has it beat but it does have one. It can make VoIP calls and the sound quality is good. For what I use my player for basically a PDA that plays music it has the touch beat but no way would I compare either to a smart phone.
