  • "Love this PMP. The review, however..."

    Pros: Screen size
    Lightweight
    Flexible and customizable
    GPS

    Cons: None so far

Summary: I have thoroughly enjoyed this PMP. I don't use the included headphones because, like most included headphones, they don't work for me. I used my own headphones. I also, nearly immediately, set the equalizer to my liking. The sound has been great. The 2 on-board speakers work quite well. I am most appreciative of the fact that it plays nearly every file type and that it accepts microsd cards. My favorite you tube videos have looked great, especially the higher quality ones. The screen size is completely easy on the eyes. I love the notifications functionality. When checking my email, the text could be a little crisper but it is a non-issue given that I love the screen size. Another convenience is the microusb connections so if I need to keep extra cables and chargers due to travel, it is very easy and highly affordable. I find the review puzzling and was very surprised at the low rating. I have had several PMPs over the years and this is my first foray into the touchscreen models. I have an iPhone for work so I have familiarity with how the iPod Touch would work. I also have an Android phone for my personal phone so I am familiar with both. This one met more of my criteria for a PMP at this time hence the selection. It wasn't about love or hate for a particular OS but what works for me. I thought that professional reviewers were supposed to divest themselves of personal predilections and be objective but this one didn't quite come across that way. I also completely understand that how music sounds to each person varies greatly but that is why the equalizers should be standard on PMPs. I hope people looking for a PMP will at least consider this based on end-user experiences. I also hope that this is the beginning of a re-visit of PMP creation since not all of us want our music on our phones. I think the continued sales of the iPod Touch and other iPods demonstrate that there is still quite a market for PMPs. More choices are great for us consumers.
