I just got my Samsung YH925 GS, mainly because on the Samsung site under their Product section, the desciption said that it was already compatible with Janus and in the specs it said it was Janus upgradeable in big bold letters, implying that is currently upgradeable. As I know now, these are all lies!!! If you are a Samsung YH-925 GS user, please help! If you do not own one yet, don't fall victim to the lies on the Samsung site like I did!
Otherwise the player has been nice to me so far. It's sounds great and has a pretty screen and is small. Also, a great interface. I'm not sure, but syncing has worked allright so far. I'll get back to you to let you know if this good trend continues.Updated
they finally came out with the janus firmware upgrade, but once i upgrade it and the drivers... the damn thing stopped synching songs correctly through any program (they would "skip" on the player... sounded kind of like a cd skipping). also the player would suddenly in the middle of synching stop being recognized and the synch would be aborted for the rest of the files. these are the same darn problems that I had to return the Iriver for, which was really pimp except for those problems and awful customer service. It seems that no one can quite get this Janus/MTP thing under control. My advice to any mp3 player users... DO NOT UPGRADE TO JANUS FIRMWARE IF THE OPTION IS AVAILABLE AND DO NOT BUY A JANUS COMPATIBLE PLAYER UNTIL SOMEONE GETS IT RIGHT!! i am very upset now that I'm finding Samsung is probably going to give me the same terrible service I received from Iriver. Another company that releases a product even though they're not finished with it!!! It doesn't even work. And I was demanding a fast release because it had been promised much earlier. Here we are nearly a year later and they just put out an update that is just as crappy as every other company! STAY AWAY FROM JANUS! THAT PROBABLY WHY APPLE HASN'T UPDATED THE IPOD YET! when and if this stupid samsung player kicks it, i'm going to get an ipod, which is what I should have done in the first place!
