Pros: Extremely small, basic but effective menu system, decent sound quality, comes with a lot of preset sound EQ's, voice recorder, fm radio, works for mac+pc(although mac has to be in mp3 format, and the software doesnt work for mac but you cn=an just drag an

Your problem with "formating" the songs doesn't really exist. You can get back into the music folder by pressing in the navigation stick and waiting for the screen to come up that allows you to pick the source folder. Pick where the music is and you're back in, listening from where you left off.
