Battery charging problem kills this player.

Pros: Great player when battery works.

Cons: Player has battery recharge problem that Samsung repair service can't fix.

Review: If the battery worked I would rate this unit a near 10. I really like this player and I wish Samsung could fix it. If the battery drains completely the player can't be recharged and will not turn on. I've sent this player back to Samsung 3 times for this problem. Samsung returns the unit, after 3-4 weeks, working and fully recharged but the problem happens all over again. Now it has happened for a 4th time. Samsung is either unable or unwilling to fix it. I'm stuck with a lemon.

More than I bargained for

Pros: Great sound, good connectivity, small, colorful, fun extras

Cons: I didn't find any

Review: Great, great, great player. I got mine for about $140 and it was so very worth it. I don't know why anyone would blow their money on an ipod (storage capacity aside) when the less-hyped players like this are really where it's at. The sound was great, although when I first got it there was this odd delay on the sound but I later found it was some sort of 3-d setting. Songs were very easily added to the machine, as were playlists and albums. The built-in mic was superb! I used it to record jam sessions with suprisingly good results. People don't believe me that I recorded them that way. The only drawback on that end is that it has no attenuation pad for high sound pressure levels, but I wouldn't expect it to. So loud sounds overload the preamp and make a disgusting distortion. It was fun letting my friends pick it up and scroll though hundreds of pics I had loaded on it. Recording the radio is also a nice feature and boasts superb quality. I never used the line in feature, but the specifications are at cd quality, which makes this device extremely powerful for the price. You don't even need a computer to fill it up with music, you can line-in from a cd and get great quality MP3s, though you can't name them without a computer. you can buy a wall charger with a USB slot for such devices. How cool is that? The only things keeping this from a 10 are that there is a little metal piece on the top that you thread a lanyard through, that when left unoccupied will bounce around in its hole, which makes for a very loud and distracting rattle that shows up predominantly on recordings. The other thing is something that I can't really hold against it; It is so small that it just fell out of my pocket one day and I didn't even notice! So now somebody out there has my MP3 player with all my jams and pics and MP3s on it. I lost it a week before I moved to Australia. I could really use it out here. So don't blow your wad on an ipod because it's so hip and sexy. Who cares? Plus the stupid ipod makes you use itunes which I hate! HATE! This baby is drag and drop.

Great for the workout enthusiast

Pros: Size, Sound Quality, Price

Cons: Controls are not easiliy accessable while running

Review: Great player audio/video, controls could me more versatile and easier to access. Overall a great buy!

Some users are wrong, real player works just fine. You can drop and drag files with real player.

Pros: exc. sound, great color, easy to read and use.

Cons: earphones slip alot.

Review: Ipod is way over rated. Great little machine. I also have an ipod and I hate it. First of all it cost to much to do almost nothing except play music. With the Samsung I can adjust sound quality, image settings and its compatible with real player, windows media and jriver. Imagine that. Some people need to do a little reading before stating false facts.

POS right from square one

Pros: looks great but didn't deliver

Cons: bought it charged it and it didn't work.

Review: usb cable charged the unit but it didn't get recognized by my computer. Feels like usb slot/connection on unit is loose. Returned to store and same thing with second unit.

Nice little unit

Pros: Compact with BIG sound

Cons: I need more space

Review: This flash unit will be used for walking/jogging. It definitely serves that purpose well. The sound is exceptional. If you're in the market for a 1GB unit....this is the one to get.

Best Product for Me

Pros: Ease of Navigation; Sound Quality, Supports Playlists & Ease of Downloading

Cons: Crappy Manual

Review: I needed a good quality Flash drive player for working out & occasional use while at work. After exhaustive research that probably annoyed everyone in my life; I settled on this product. It was a tad pricey at $170, but Best Buy was giving a $50 giftcard with it, so I like to look at it as only paying $120 for it.

I've had it for nearly a month. Overall, it's great. I like that it allows you create playlists, though that took me the longest to figure out how to do. It has a recorder that I have yet to use...don't know what I have to record? I did a battery life test today, put it on from 8am & it's still going at 1pm with 1 bar left.

The manual was no help at all, but I quickly was able to figure how to download songs & preset radio stations on my own. Once you figure that out it's a breeze. You will probably also want to replace the ear buds, they are freaking huge & hurt my ears.

I lucked out in that I recieved the protective case/armband kit for Christmas. If you are using it for the gym, it's essential that you purchase this additional product, as no carrying case comes with it.

Overall it's the perfect mp3 player for anyone who is new to the world of mp3's and needs it for working out & daily use.

better then an iPOD

Pros: -great CLEAR sound -holds plenty of songs -long battery life -VERY easy down load -gets LOUD -has radio, record, and for the heck of it hold pics too

Cons: -hard to navigate at first, but after you get the hang of it its EASY! -little pricy at $160

Review: I researched product after product determined to find a better mp3 then the iPOD.... and i found it. If the only reason your buying a mp3 player is for listening to music then this is a best buy for you. the sound on this is perfect clear, the songs are EXTREMELY easy to download songs onto it, and its just a great product

Impressive unit

Pros: Great sound, small size, attractive styling

Cons: No ac adapter, neckstrap or case

Review: I recently received one for Christmas. I am new to Mp3 players but I think this has excellent sound quality. It rivals the sound of iPods, which both of my children have. I am disappointed however that there is now AC adapter. I want to be able to recharge the batteries if I am on vacation and don't have my laptop with me. I am also disappointed that there is no case or neckstrap included. The menus will take a little getting used to.

Small, powerful sound, but not as "impressive" as previous model

Pros: Superb sound quality, color TFT screen, small & light, decent features

Cons: No AC adapter, few accessories, loss of features from previous model, somewhat clumsy menus

Review: I recently upgraded from the YP-T7Z to the YP-T7JZ, and there's some pros and cons.

I'll list the pros first of course. The sound quality is superb for this player, and it's quite an improvement over the previous model. Sound levels aren't as quiet as the previous model, for example the previous maximum sound level on the older model was still not exactly that "loud", but this newer model remedies that. Maximum sound here is quite loud. Samsung also allows for even more varied sound settings, with new options like 3D sound and street mode.

The color TFT screen is an improvement over the previous model as well, with an improved screen resolution of 128x128 (vs 92x92). Of course, it's quite a small screen (1.2 inches) already, so while it's nice that you can view photos on this device, I don't think that will be the primary use of it.

Other improvements include the replacement of the joystick to a square button layout, new graphic equalizer screens, and a new way of organizing MP3s. The organization now mirrors how the Ipod is organized, where you can access songs via artist, album, genre, etc. Playlists are also allowed now, though only if it is made through Windows Media Player.

The FM radio included works just as well as it worked in the previous version -- meaning that it works great. The voice recorder and direct recording from CD are also a plus, even though these are features that I rarely use. The volume of this has been reduced from the previous model also, though it's not that noticeable.

Now the cons:
No more OGG or ASF support, at least not advertised on the official specifications. Though I haven't tested if this is true or not, I'll take Samsung's word on this that OGG support is gone. The previous model could play OGG & ASF files, but this one no more. Given that OGG & ASF aren't exactly popular, but what gives?

Other small cons exist. Navigating through menus still isn't as simple as if this were an Ipod, and sometimes a bit clumsy even. The ability to view text files, which the previous model allowed, is also gone. Though of course the device isn't meant to be an e-book reader, but I figure that this is not exactly a hard feature to include, so why cut it?

The drag and drop feature is removed as well (unless you just want to store mp3s into the data folder, which cannot be accessed for song play), and the only way to put playable songs on the player is through Window Media Player.

The device also lacks an AC adapter. Apparently, Samsung now believes you should only charge this machine through a USB cable. Also missing from the accessories are a belt clip and a neckstrap. Those things couldn't cost more than a few bucks, but I guess Samsung is going for the cheap.

When I first got the Samsung YP-T7Z (the older model), I was quite wowed by all the features that it had, even if they were somewhat superfluous. Eight months later, with the YP-T7JZ, it's somewhat a shame that some features were lost, but I suppose since I never used most of them, I shouldn't be so picky. But eight months later, with many other color flash players, the YP-T7JZ doesn't have any key advantages in terms of features.

When it comes down to it, the YP-T7JZ still has what it takes for a great player -- sound quality, small size, robustness. Even with the cons that I have mentioned, it's by no means a lousy player. It's still an attention-getter with it's small size and still ample features.
