"Amazing alternative to the ipod shuffle"
Pros: small, looks pretty cool, has a very visible screen, fm radio, nice sound
Cons: lack of bundled accessories, no firmware support on Samsung Website
Summary: I got the 512 mb version at best buy for $70 to be a second mp3 player. I have had it almost a month and find it very good so far. One thing that I noticed is that it sounds really good, and I really like the 3d sound options samsung included. It is small and lightweight, but the screen is still very easy to read and the player functions very well. I can only fit about 90 songs with my current encoding, but I don't really mind because I have all of the rest of my music on my first player (zen vision m) and just use this if I'm walking somewhere or don't feel like lugging the larger player. The fm radio actually gets great reception, and is very useful. I don't care much about the voice recorder, but from what I've tried I don't think it sounds very good. The only downsides are that it comes with no lanyard (although there is a place to attach one) or armstrap or any nice way to carry it while excercising (I'm working on finding something on my own), and one the samsung website there is not only no new firmware to download, but they don't even have the original factory firmware (as of 6-28-06). The main reason I picked this player was I loved the fact that the usb plug was part of it (I don't like ipods obviously, so the shuffle was pretty much out of the question), and it is great to connect quickly to my computer and change the songs on it. One last word about battery life is that I haven't even come close to running it down yet with my daily routine of taking a city bus both ways to work and walking 10 minutes to lunch with it on, so even though it may only be 10-12.5 hours it is really easy to just plug it into your computer when you get home if you feel it is getting low, and take it out the next morning.
