"useless review"
Pros: useless review
Cons: useless revies
Summary: cnet's review is useless. This is a small mp3-player, that you put in your pocket and listen to the music. Talking about how boring the display is, is stupid, since this is something you only look at while changin song or settings. Then it goes to your pocket and with this tiny screen, who would want to use it for watching pictures anyways. What a completely useless review!

User opinion is on mark. I purchased refurb from Microcenter for $34.95 and so far, very nice. Get a decent set of phones and you're set.

I don't think Steve Jobs himself could have done a better job of criticizing an ordinary MP3 player.
Acceptable for youngsters and first-timers? Give me a break! Since when did stores start locking mere toys behind glass in the electronics section, anyway? -
If it is not Apple, it is no good. This is seems all CNET editors opinions.

The review CNET posted on this player shows me they are BIASED against ALMOST anything other than APPLE! You are 100% correct Soup in saying CNET's review is USELESS! It should be trashed! Jasmine, wake up please! How does CNET give the Ipod Shuffle a 6.3 and the Sansa c240 a 6.0? BIAS, that is how!
The Ipod Shuffle has NO SCREEN, NO FM RADIO, NO FM RECORDER, NO VOICE RECORDER, NO MICRO SD SLOT, NO USER REPLACEABLE BATTERY and it is 79.99.
The Sansa c240 has a screen, a fm radio, fm recorder, voice recorder, micro sd slot, and a user replaceable battery! It is also 79.99!
The only thing the Ipod Shuffle has out of the box, the Sansa c240 doesn't, is the built on CLIP! The Sansa does have a LANYARD out of the box though.
Jasmine France, you are BIASED! You say the c240 has a BORING USER INTERFACE! AT LEAST IT HAS AN INTERFACE! Do you expect fireworks when you press play!!?? You also say it has no video playback...NEITHER DOES THE SHUFFLE! Oh yea, the Shuffle DOESN'T have a SCREEN! This review is 100% BIASED! IT SHOULD BE TAKEN DOWN IMMEDIATELY! -
I have been been researching MP3 Players for some time now, in order to determine the best "Entry level" player for my "FIRST" MP3 player. I started with the obvious requirement of playing music files only, then explored the features of a full fledged personal MP3/Video player so I would be comparing apples to apples!
I was almost tempted by the introduction of Microsoft's Zune player but 15 years of PC and personal electronics experience put the brakes on buying into the Zune introduction; "Never Buy a first release product!" The Zune is in my target sights in the future as I understand Microsoft's motivation and have a pretty good idea how the Zune will evolve in a year or 2.
Today I want something inexpensive yet versatile as I enter the MP3 Player arena, the Sandisk Sansa c240 proved to exceed my desires and expectations for the price.
The CNET Review attempts to provide readers with a fair comparison to other players and admittedly, experienced users will likely share the opinion of the CNET review. Those discriminating consumers such as myself, that research products thoroughly before leaping will feel that the CNET review is "Overly Critical" of features that are not a concern in an entry level device. Plays MP3's, FM Tuner "AND" records voice and FM radio broadcasts - Show me another MP3 device that does the same for the same price, you can't!
When price is a consideration you must be willing to accept trade offs, I see no negatives in the CNET review that detracts my interest in the Sansa c240!
