Pros plays all my music, easy to use
Cons The battery life just sucks unless I happened upon the 1 of 40 defective ones out of the 200+ manufactured.
Summary The huge problem I'm getting is the battery life. The rating is bc of this as endurance of the battery is everything for me personally. It's not lasting anywhere near the number of hours the manufacture claims (15 hours) & I charge it very very long both through a computer usb & a wall outlet. Also screen brightness/timeout/shutdown time is the lowest setting. I listen to it almost 24/7, but some nights I won't & when I get up in the morning it says only 1/3 or less of the battery was used, but then dies before my bus reaches my destination 1hr later.
I don't listen to it 2-15 hours straight, unless it's as i'm falling asleep, it's in intervals through out the day that usually add up to about 2.5-3 hours max, but for some reason it will die after claiming the battery was more than half full!
Not sure if this has anything to do with it dropping, but I haven't often dropped it, there's been no liquid exposure either & this problem has been ongoing since I took it out of the box really so I wouldn't think dropping had anything to do with it. Guess you get what you pay for when you buy something cheap, perhaps it's time to break down & join the i-pod group?
Pros Lightweight, cheap, no touch screen to crack.
Cons Freezes easily, a pain to restart, no product support.
Summary I wouldn't recommend this to anyone under any circumstances. I wanted an alternative to the Ipod nano, but this ain't it.
Pros Works very well, I've experienced no errors or problems. Totally flawless. The addition of expandable memory is definitely something worthy.
Cons Lack's Apple's product appeal.
Summary This is the perfect device for listening to music for a great price. But however, if you prefer Apple's brand appeal, I would recommend you try the iPod shuffle.
Pros Excellent sound, features, size and portability. It is Audible ready. Holds many audiobooks and manages books in mp3 too. It is light and comes with an armband for use during dog walking, or whatever your favorite activity.
Cons While the Sansa Clips I have used did survive quite a bit of abuse they didn't last very long. I have had the power button stop working, the headphone connection loosen up, and sudden, inexplicable inability to be recognized by the computer.
Summary The Sansa Clip Zip has excellent sound, features, size and portability. My primary use is to play audiobooks and I need a player that is Audible ready and will manage books in mp3 too. With an 8G uSD card plus 4G internal memory, I can load many audiobooks - 10 to 15 is typical (just checked and I have more like 20 to 25 books loaded right now.) The Clip will accommodate podcasts too.
It is very light and comes with an armband for use during dog walking, or whatever your favorite activity. This latest model has a sturdier clip which is quite good.
While the 5 or 6 Sansa Clips I have used did survive quite a bit of abuse (drops, rain, drops, snow, pet hair, drops, etc.) none lasted particularly long. I think the longest I have had one work well was probably 18 mos or 2 years. I have had the power button stop working, the headphone connection loosen up, and sudden, inexplicable inability to be recognized by the computer.
Even though it is not the most durable mp3 player in the world, I still think it is the best value for the money. I got my most recent one at Best Buy on sale for around $35. I think I can buy a few ipods for that amount! All-in-all I love my Sansa Clip Zip!
Pros Great Price
Really easy to Use
Cons There is No Cons
Summary Its The Best Mp3 Player And Its Pretty Cheap If you don't want to spend 200 0R 300 Bucks on A IPod Touch.
