"Missing key features" on by AGZELA

    Pros: Wireless B and G

Cons: Pricey, no search by artist, battery life w/wireless terrible

Summary: I bought it today and I am a little disapointed first the battery does not last long enough as I expected with the wireless on. The other thing is that if you download songs from yahoo onto your pc it will not automatically transfer to the MP3 player. You have to create a playlist of the songs you want on the pc side of the yahoo software in order to get them on the mp3. You dont have a search like the pc version of yahoo. Why cant they add a search by artist then I could just download the albums I want straight from the MP3 player?

I keep getting errors when transfering from the Yahoo Music Jukebox software. Dont buy this thing until they iron out all of the bugs. I am returning it way too expensive for it too have these many problems..

yes I had the same licensing problem too, which was a major disappointment. I'm thinking about returning this pc of crap as well and buy an Ipod..

I've got a significant amount of my personal CDs ripped. How does one go about loading personal mp3s onto the player? I don't have internet, so I've not used yahoo's player.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the sansa used its wifi to access one's personal library of music and photos...

DESIGN: I was so excited to see this item. Very nice design. Color screen is nice. The rotating pad works nicely. Kudos for the design.
FUNCTIONALITY: I had a hard time trying to access the Internet radio through the WIFI once it is secured. When it's open I had no problem. I just could not get it to access the WIFI through a secured network (at least not mine). Only when I opened it then it was fine. Second, it would not allow me to add all my "owned" mp3's. It kept thinking those were illegal. Odd thing is, from a whole album it imported half of the songs and the other it refused. The songs listing buttons are way too big....you have to scroll down too long. Would've been nice if you had the ability to reduce the size of the graphical buttons. Then there was the issue with the album covers....it brought in about 10%. The transfer of songs to this unit is too complicated.

I'm sorry but this unit for $249 (before tax) is just not worth it...for 4 GB of storage...

Some of what you said doesn't appear to be true.

You can have the Yahoo software automatically sync your music to the player. There is no need to create playlists. When you connect the player to the computer and launch the software, just click on the "Sansa Connect" entry under Portable Devices on the left side. From there, just click the Synchronize button and it will sync your music.

Also, even if you want to transfer specific songs, you do not need to create a playlist. Simply drag/drop the songs from the My Music view onto the "Sansa Connect" entry on the left side.

You can even download and transfer songs from the Y! Unlimited screens in one step. Click on Y! Unlimited, search for the music you want from their catalogue, and in the results, just drag the album covers or song entries and drop them onto the "Sansa Connect" entry on the left side. The software automatically downloads the songs and transfers them in one step.

Personally, I've been using the device through WiFi and not connecting it to the computer very often. I've found that if you go to the http://music.yahoo.com site, you can search for songs from there. Give the songs that you like 4-star ratings. Then, on the Sansa Connect, when you play your My Station under Internet Radio, the player will play a lot of the songs that you rated 4 stars. Once a song you like is playing on the player, press the "Zing" button to download it to the player.

Also, I discovered that Yahoo has an update to their software at http://music.yahoo.com/jukebox/ that is a newer version than what ships in the box. I've updated to this and I haven't had any problems.
