"Stylish but problematic"
Pros: stylish, click-wheel, decent storage capacity, battery life.
Cons: freezes, lacks of available accessories, low humming noise, poor software
Summary: The Sansa e260 is a fairly good mp3 player that needs a bit more time on the designing block. The Sansa has pretty good music capacity (I was at 760 songs at last sync mp3 + wma) with fairly good quality. However this little mp3 player has a lot more things to over come.
PROS- The click wheel, much like the iPod the Sansa has a convenient click-wheel which makes it easier to scroll to your favorite song or artist and scroll through the menu quickly. The battery life is also pretty good, averaging just about the 20 hours that SanDisk says it has. It's very stylish which helps.
Cons- Sadly the Cons are in high numbers. My e260 freezes and locks up all the time, requiring annoying restarts which often take a minute or more. There is also no music-manager cd equipped with the Sansa forcing you to use Media Player or another software which can be problematic. No AC charger (included at least)which means you have to have your computer or laptop to use it. Accessories are in short supply but I noticed recently on SanDisk's website more available options but not like those of the iPod. In the background I also often hear a low humming noise that I can't seem to get rid of.
Sadly I had to send my e260 in for an exchange (one year warranty + easy tech support) as it has completly died on me-faulty hardware probably. Everytime I try to turn it on, it says the batter is too low. When I plug it in to the computer, it only freezes at the welcome screen.
I give the e260 a score of 5.5-6.0. Hopefully my exchanged player will have fixed all of the bugs.
