"Problems with sound quality" on by ileftiTunes
Pros: Easy to use, has a lot of potential
Cons: Static, hissing, crackle, and pop
Summary: After doing weeks of research and reading tons of reviews, I was really excited to get the new 4GB Rhapsody.
All of the music that I have tried to put on the player (my CDs, Rhapsody to go songs, etc...) has this horrible static noise, like listening to an out-of-tune radio station. Tried different headphones, reinstalling the software, & online help.
Songs play crystal clear on my laptop using Rhapsody, even with the headphones connected to my laptop (IBM, XP, IE7).
Don't know if the player I have is defective or not. It already froze up on me the first day I tried to use it and I had to reboot by holding down the on/off button for 15 seconds.
I will try taking it back to Best Buy and see what happens.Updated
I had a defective player, the connection (prongs)between the inside of the headphone jack and the computer were loose, causing the static and distortion. New player is great, I am very happy. Also, the customer support was really helpful, and friendly. I am more than satisfied, its everything that I wanted in an MP3 player. I rate it as a 10, easy to use, navigate, has a ton of features compared to the Nano. I also got a great price on it, 129.99 for the Black Friday sale at Best Buy.

i just got one and it advertises 4 gb; i haven't added any music, and it only says i have 1.5 gb of free sapce. i erased everything (all the trial stuff) an it now reads 1.7 gb free space. i paid for 4 gb, not 1.7.
