"Good iPod alternative" on by tech_junky48

Pros: Video playback, user-replacable battery, large screen, cheaper than iPod

Cons: center button feels cheap, hard to delete preloaded songs

Summary: Great mp3 player! I actually use it with Napster To Go, but I had Best Buy gift cards and they were sold out of all other e200 series aside from the Rhapsody version. Good sound quality, and, unlike some, I enjoy the tactile scroll wheel. Screen is bright, and the battery life on the user-replaceable lithium-ion battery is long. I will admit, however that the center button feels cheap and moves around a lot. Also, I had to call SanDisk customer service in order to delete the preloaded songs [Oh, when you delete the preloads, the names of individual songs are alpha-numerical code (eg. BF133952EB) so it is nearly impossible to delete only certain songs that you dislike.] The customer service people were very helpful. Overall, a well-designed mp3 player with few flaws.

    "Ipod what?" on by ditimus414

Pros: easy to use, great battery life, great design

Cons: not many cons i can think of

Summary: i've gone through a good 5 mp3 players, iriver HD10, samsung YPP, multiple rios, and this one is by far the best player i have ever seen. i listen to it from 1 - 2 hrs a day and i don't have to recharge it for a week or so. i love that its expandable, and you can find assesories for it on the market. its really easy to use, just plug and ad to syn list on WMP. i love the interface, its nice and easy. and it atracts a good amount of attention when ppl see it and they realize it looks better than an ipod. definately a nano killer to me, proves that there are products out there better and cheaper than what is cool.

"Good, but lacks in some areas" on by Mike E.

    Pros: Sound, screen, battery, radio

    Cons: Proprietary cable, slow startup

    Summary: Nice player:
    1) Very good sound (I replaced the stock headphones of course)
    2) Excellent screen
    3) Reasonable navigation
    4) Good battery
    5) Looks and feels very good

    but lacking in some areas:
    1) Very slow startup (about 3 seconds) - worst of everything I saw
    2) Proprietary cable
    3) You can only charge it with this proprietary USB cable, and you can't listen to music while the player is connected and charging
    4) Radio interface is very bad - arrows always switch to next band, no way to configure it to switch to next preset, which would be much more useful. The only way to switch presets is either menu (at least 5 clicks) or by switching between all of them in ONE direction
    5) No support for international characters in artist and song names (I care about Cyrillic, maybe it supports some other languages)

"prefer the non-dmr players but...." on by mountain_racer

Pros: This is much better than anything else out there

Cons: DRM - the music industry is drowning it self

Summary: My experience has been mostly positive, when I do have problems, more often than not it is M$ Windows problem and not the Sansa's fault. Took a little while to get used to the Rhapsody software but I am still learning. Now I just need to get my podcast subscriptions and my player software into the same location!

    Updated
I meant DRM (Digital Rights Management) in the summary

    "Awesome player" on by skiers33

Pros: Lightweight but well built, brilliant color screen, easy to use

    Cons: Lack of accessories

Summary: I have owned this player for approximately 4 months now. Right out of the box I found the player to be clearly solid and lightweight, although I was a little surprised at the lack of accessories such as a belt clip or a separate wall charging cord. The screen has brilliant color and the sound (with upgraded headphones) is phenomenal. Downloading songs is very easy (albeit somewhat slow) using Rhapsody which is compatible with this player. I have had no problems using the scroll wheel which was a negative described by other reviews. Actually the player is quite easy to use even for a first time MP3 player owner like myself. Overall I absolutely love this player and I have yet to find any significant negatives. I would recommend a protective case and certainly upgrading the ear buds that come packaged with this player.
