"Great device" on by sactownbwoy
Pros: battery life, size, feel
Cons: none , perfect audio playback device
Summary: I bought mine in Japan while on vacation (still on vaction as of this writing) and I got the wired remote with my purchase. I had to use my laptop to convert my cds to ATRACPlus and it was slow but that is because my lapytop is only a Pentium M 1.4. I am sure that once I get home my desktop will be able to convert over 20 gigs in no time. I like the size and style of the NW-HD1. I am a long ime Sony fan especially after living in Japan for four years. The NW-HD1 does exactly what I need it to do, play music. I don't need all those other things. I have a watch to tell time and a cell phone for a calendar and contacts. I feel that the Ipod is more of a fashion accesory than a useful device. When I was in San Fransisco I never saw so many people with Ipods and I think they had them to look cool and trendy more than for playing music. I am kinda bummed that I didn't get the NW-HD3 but I feel the HD1 looks better, besides I like the sound and size of ATRAC. I recommend this for anyone who wants a digital audio device and not a fashion accesory
