"Nice design, bad mp3 transfer to player"
Pros: Nice design, good battery life.
Cons: Software needed for MP3 transfer. This software has several modules which connect to online servers and send sony knows what information about your MP3 library...
Summary: As stated before, nice design, good battery life(it recharges by plugging it into the USB port), but the software needed for transfer, that rather kills off the pro's. You HAVE to install this software if you want to listen to music from the player. This software comes with several modules which not only affect your MP3 player's software. Security modules and online server connection modules. Joy, Joy ! It's not like I don't already have enough programs running amok in my system's memory. Why not add some more...
Any MP3 player should simply allow the playback of mp3's you copy to the 'Mass Storage Device' your XP will see once it's connected. Simple, efficient, no additional big brother software needed. I just don't fancy the idea of this software checking with a online library to see if the music I am putting on the player is really legal.(I enjoy a good remix and I doubt all the obscure music I like is in their library).
So this here player is going back to the store and we'll be getting a proper player.

Sony Support website provides a small utility for drag-n-drop support of MP3 files from Windows Explorer directly to the Network Walkman series. Transfer is faster than iTunes

Check it out!
