"High fidelity sound, beautiful video, rugged, epic battery life"
Pros: High fidelity sound, beautiful video, rugged, inexpensive, epic battery life
Cons: Depends on Windows media player, which needs to handle video better
Summary: Sony knows consumer electronics. These units are inexpensive, sound great, have fantastic video, an fm tuner, and are rugged. We had an iPod video, which fried itself - not something one would expect for $299. So, we went with Sony - my kids each have one of these units - they've been dropped, accidentally immersed in milk, and even submersed in water for 3 hours. After careful drying, they work like new.
The battery life is epic.
Updated on Jun 27, 2009This was lost in a car seat for about 8 months. Son bought an iPod Nano to replace it, Aunt bought him an iPod touch. We found it again - the Nano sits and gathers dust, the Touch is a web browser for checking the weather, the Walkman is what he uses to listen to music.
Updated on Aug 31, 2009Okay - about the third time this thing has gone in the wash. Let it dry for a week. Plugged it in . . . it's alive! ALIVE. Thing has 9 lives.

Again, I have never used WMP to sync thing to this. I just drag and drop to folders, and it works great.
