"If it worked, I would have gladly paid double !"
Pros: If this device were remotely reliable, it would be the perfect answer for those of us who spend endless hours in the gym. Very comfortable, good ergonomics... innovative shuttle feature...
Cons: After seeing the review here on CNET, I promptly ordered the W202 thru the SonyStyle store... and was thrilled with both the form factor and sound when it arrived. It lasted three days in the gym. The replacement broke two days later. Stay away!
Summary: I've now spent two hours on the phone trying to get a reasonable response from Sony regarding expedited replacement of my second NWZ - W202. I was told by their tech support that these are being returned by the dozen. My intuition is that the open mini-usb port on the headset allows sweat to wick into the unit... not a very slick design element for something specifically designed for the gym. Please heed my advice - this is a no go...

The problem is the mini usb port. I corrected this myself by using the rubber plug off of an older mp3 player I had. When I remove the device from the docking station I inset the plug and go for my daily run. I have had no proplems since doing this. Maybe sony will add this to future models (it would be nice if it was actualy connected to the device so I wouldnt have to worry about losing it). Some other posts have compalined that they can hear background noise, but I personally like the fact that I can hear traffic approching from behind me and still enjoy the music.
