"If ZERO was at ratings option, THIS one would get it!" on by Uffa2u

    Pros: There aren't ANY

Cons: Too many to summarize here

Summary: I got this as an Xmas present and had to have it replaced twice since then. This horror does NOT play MP3's, the buttons are small and often don't work, navigating the menu (or even deciphering the menu) is painful, I had to convert my entire MP3 library in order to play the songs, AND I have yet to figure out if there is a way to convert these files back into the MP3 format. This part is especially upsetting to me since I have spent a lot of time and money building music library. It plays loud and battery life is long. I got 46.5 hours out of one charge from my PC. But the flimsy controls, being forced to convert files to a format that doesn't work anywhere else, the hard to understand menu, the crummy earbuds that come with it - all of that doesn't make up for the volume and battery charge. Oh, and did I mention, I had to get Sony's permission to play my own music? That happens during the "file conversion" process.

I haven't used "the bean" since January. This player bites!

And YES. I do mean submit this item with a rating of 1. Like I said in the beginning - if ZERO were available, I would have chosen THAT!

"Truely a Toy" on by Blue2222

Pros: The only feature that i can think of is long battery life.

    Cons: Basically everything else.

Summary: This thing truely looks like a toy and not a functional and

enticing mp3 player. I mean it looks like a device that a

toddler would play with!!! The form function i think is

extremely ackward and the controls for navigating files

looks very cumbersome. This is no where to being a

"iPod-killer." I would of thought Sony would of came up

with a much more functional design and feature rich flash

Mp3 player but i guess i give them too much credit. As I

mentioned before, the only feature on this device that

renders it somewhat useful is the long battery life. People

have to realize that one of the main reasons why Sony is

able to offer longer battery life on this device is because it

comes with a much smaller, monochrome-like display

that obviously requires less energy then a brilliant crystal-

clear display such as the iPod Nano. Overall, i think that

this is a very lack-luster device not worth the attention or

    the price.
