"Fantastic sound, great picture quality"
Pros: Fantastic sound, great screen (for pics), controls are excellent (very easy to work). Love that sony has finally gotten rid of sonicstage & now has drag and drop. Does everything I want an mp3 player to do.
Cons: Lack of expandable memory is a problem, prompting me to go out and buy the 16GB.
Summary: Even though Sony players are known for being a bit pricey, I prefer to go out and actually spent a bit extra on a player that I know is going to work. I've had 2 Creatives that have failed on me (after a period of around 12 mths) and an ipod that lasted a day. I bought a small 2GB Sony standard USB plug in and it's been with me for about 3 years. Having a large music library however, I decided to upgrade to this player again on a whim. Sony doesn't let you down with excellent sound quality, excellent picture viewing and very very easy control functions- pretty much all I need as I don't really listen to the radio and I don't record my voice all the time. As for being pricey, I bought it in a shop in the UK when the sales were on and it worked out very well for me. The only thing that lets Sony down with these players is the lack of expandable memory and the very incredibly expensive extras (cases, armbands etc.) All in all an excellent player, which does absolutely everything I need only with more class than an ipod.
Lack of standard USB & only charges via USB
Lack of FM Radio & Voice recorder.
