"Apple might as well start digging its own grave"
Pros: I love everything about the Mp3 Player itself
Cons: Like all the reviews, the software isn't great but I would hardly consider this as a con
Summary: I have had many Mp3 players in the past including the ipod mini but nothing comes close to the Gigabeat. The design of the Gigabeat is solid and sleak but no bulky like the ipod photo. Its vibrant color screen is the best I've seen of any Mp3 player. It also has cool features such as bookmarks (which is exactly like on the go playlists) and album covers that you can put on for each song. Another pro is the volume controls. The ipod's volume controls were controled by the scroll wheel and you needed to be at a certain screen to adjust the volume. The gigabeat has the volume controls on the side so you can adjust whenever you want. The navigation is easy and user friendly. It took me no more than a few minutes to get use to it. Now I glide throught with ease. The battery life is also a plus. The software isn't horrible but isn't the easiest to transfere music to the Gigabeat. All in all, the Gigabeat is well worth the price. ipod, you better watch your step b/c your reign is coming to an end.Updated
If I could, I would just rewrite my entry but for some reason, cnet doesn't let me. I would give this a 7.0 out of ten. This mp3 player has given me more problems than it is worth; Not so much the mp3 player itself but the crappy software that is required with the gigabeat. he software is just a piece of garbage! I bet Toshiba just wanted to get the product out and neglected the software or the are just dumb. Anyways, the software sucks but the mp3 player is still running fine. I can't wait until cnet rates the gigabeat s series and see if its worth buying.
