The good: The X-Mini Happy features an innovative all-in-one design with an impressive-sounding speaker and a built-in MP3 player. The unit comes with an SD card slot and an SD-to-microSD adapter, and it can be daisy-chained with other speakers. A stowaway line-in cable on the bottom makes it easy to attach to other audio sources.
The bad: The integrated MP3 player on the X-Mini Happy has no navigation options or organization. The speaker always starts up at the loudest volume.
The bottom line: The X-Mini Happy is a great little speaker that offers a creative all-in-one solution with an integrated MP3 player and a cable for attaching external audio sources. If you want to share music on the go, this is a great option.
Finding portable speakers for your iPod or other MP3 player isn't much of a challenge. Manufacturers have made speakers ranging from the pocketable to the boom boxy in terms of size and design. However, if you want a tiny speaker with an MP3 player built right in, look no further than the X-Mini Happy, an itty-bitty portable music player with an all-in-one design. This little unit retails for about $100 and offers solid sound quality and an impressive array of features. If you're on the market for a simple way to share tunes on ... Expand full review

The X-Mini Happy could almost fit in a pocket, if not for its bulbous shape. When the unit is twisted down and locked for transport, it measures just 1.6 inches high and 2.2 inches in diameter. Popping the unit out extends the height to about 2.5 inches and reveals an accordion-style "subwoofer" of sorts that maximizes bass. Around the base of each speaker you'll find a variety of ports and controls; the bottom stows an integrated stereo patch cable for connecting any external audio source with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. There's also an LED that glows blue during charging, static red when the speakers are powered on, and flashes red while songs are playing through the internal memory.

"Great little device with a few minor drawbacks." By numcrun
Pros: Fantastic sound for such a small device, it literally vibrates around the table at full blast! Pops up to play, then you can shrink it to store. Takes an SD card of up to 8GB? Comes with 2 GB card.
Cons: Always starts at full volume which is annoying. It is not on shuffle as the review says, it is sequential. Would be nice to have both options. When you plug the headphones in it plays through the speaker as well unless you press the mute button.
Summary: I got the speaker only model and liked it so much I got this one. The all in one dial (on, off, pause, play, volume, jump tracks) is a matter of taste, I don't mind it. However I would prefer a separate volume dial since it is slow to ... Expand full review
"x-mini Speaker/Mini Subwoofer" By nightwise
Pros: Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, up to 6 hours battery life (when fully charged), Ridiculously loud when in sub-woofer mode, Audio jack hook-up.
Cons: Not really pocket size, it can fit in your pocket but unfortunately it's a little bulging. The Organizations features on the X-mini is a little over-simplified. In need of a an equalizer.
Summary: The X-mini has a rich deep bass in the speaker. Incredible sound, loud and strong, this little speaker surprises everyone with how BIG it sounds. Just pop open the capsule and extend the speaker - this opens the resonance chamber, increasing the bass response even higher.
