"So-So -- doesnt compare to iPod when you bring iTunes into the picture"2.5 starson by Alegoo92
Pros: Good interface, wireless sharing, large screen, great radio interface which also gives track info (where available)
Cons: Limited file support, browsing looks cluttered, wireless is primarily useless and overuses battery, doesnt play protected AAC, no podcasts, horrible file organizing (Zune Marketplace)
Summary: The Zune is an average player; which relies to heavily on album art for its interface. It has a limited amount of supported file formats, so users thinking about switching (primarily Apple ones who use iTunes) will most likely not.
Zune marketplace also is far too complicated to be a file organization / digital music store service. It requires subscription and you pay in points, not dollars.
The Zune is thick and rubbery-looking. But the GUI looks beautiful--mostly on the home screen and play screen-- not browsing which looks far too cluttered and annoying.
I would have switched to the Zune if it had two things:
And the ability to play my itunes tracks.
