Brother DCP-7020

"Like an honest mule. And cheap." on by cochina
Pros: Value. Simplicity. Well-realized basic features.
Cons: Bulky. ADF could feed dog-eared pages straighter.
Summary: When I let my old inkjet print a web page, it went "chuga-chuga-chuga, mulla-mulla-mulla." With this laser, I don't worry about that anymore, and it blazes right through the job.
I just bought it for school. I frequently share paperwork --labs, old tests, articles-- so the ADF was key. The feeder tray could be longer, which would feed the documents in straighter. I know it's not supposed to be fed papers wrinkled as dollar bills, but in the cruel shool world, this happens. The provided software can straighten it, if slowly.
The DCP-7020 maintains a fairly neat cube, but it's a Big Brotha. Like a tractor.
For older computers, it offers a parallel cable receptacle. This Brother's USB is much faster.
Buttons are spartan and easy. I like this, but feature creeper consumers might want something more complcated. -
"Great inexpensive printer/copier/scanner" on by rogerbolhouse
Pros: Reliable, good quality, easy to use
Cons: Somewhat slow
Summary: I was looking for a copier/printer to replace my expensive Xerox. I was looking at the high-end but needed one quickly and did not want to get locked into a more expensive one. This works well, networks with all my other computers and is a great machine. The software is easy to install and the scanning software is nice--buy it!!

"Excellent Value for Money for HOME-OFFICE use" on by gsbajwa
Pros: Fast Printer, Copier and Scanner
Cons: Not any yet
Summary: I've owned this product for about 2 weeks now. Bought it for $199 from Staples. Very Fast printing, very good quality prints as good as any laser you can come across. Starter catridge free worth 1500 pages. Brand new catridge worth 2500 pages available for $61 at staples, which is a very decent price. You may not need to buy a printer cable as you may already have it from an old printer.
Five stars from me for this printer. -
"Works well and easy to use." on by nikiacree
Pros: Fast, good print quality
Cons: Doesn't handle thicker paper
Summary: Purchased the Brother DCP 7020 for printing the back of postcards for clients. Works good so far. Had to get a lighter weight paper that is made for laser printers. Chewed up thicker paper. Single feeder often pulls smaller paper sizes crooked but works fine using the lower paper tray. I like the multiple sheet copy function.

"Toner and drum cost way off the mark" on by Bob McIntosh
Pros: usb is nice, scanner and copy feature is a snap to use.
Cons: Toner cost is well above acceptable, drum needs replacing after just 4400 pages.
I use toner refill kit from a very reputable company to keep cost down. The drum life however has forced me to decide to sell this nice but way too costly printer.Summary: see cons nuff said.
