"Does the job"
Pros: Super inexpensive and does what it's billed to do
Cons: Ink is eating me out of house and home
Summary: I'm running this primarily as a fax on a Mac based wireless network, and use it for occasional scanning and low res' printing. It's worked from the git-go and has been extremely reliable. My one complaint, and it's huge to me, is that this printer wants to print everything in 4-color including faxes and I've already spent more in inks than I paid for the printer only a few months ago. I have the print settings as low as they will go and manually set my print dialogues to they're lowest settings when printing out of apps on my harddrive. Despite printing 99.9% of my documents in grayscale, I'm still going through CM and Y inks like crazy presumably because the fax which I have yet to figure out how to control is printing 4-color. The inks are about $20 per with black being $5-$10 more. I paid $50 after rebate for this machine a few months ago, and have replaced all four ink cartridges at least once and in some cases two and three times. You do the math.
One other complaint that I might register is that the distinctive ring feature that the salesman told me would work regardless of whether my phone company offered it or not doesn't so I have to manually turn the machine off and on when I'm expecting a fax. You can only use the feature if your phone company offers it - don't let the guy at St@ples tell you otherwise!
