Pros: I was looking for an inexpensive replacement for my old flatbed and sheetfed scanners. I did quite a bit of research and came down on either HP Officejet 5510 or Brother MFC-5440CN. (1) The MFC-5440CN is a lot more solidly built than the HP Officejet 55
Cons: (1) The HP is better in terms of photo printing. But these days, you can own an inexpensive dedicated photo printer. In fact, I have a Canon printer myself, which produces excellent pictures. I've been told that HP printer uses up ink very quickly. (2)
