"GRRReeeaattt!!" on by morwayne
Pros: Ultra quiet; reliable
Cons: Kinda big, but...; only 1 low-capacity paper tray
Summary: My first Canon printer was the 4000 purchased in '96 that "died" at my own careless hands after 2 years. The replacement was the 5200. I was happy with both printers. In 2001 or 2002 I bought the F60 and I have not had one problem. It is super quiet compared to friends who have other brands and very stingy on ink usage. I have always recommended to my friends to buy Canon for ink economy if for no other reason. The F60 worked perfect from the day I got it out of the box. I've moved it in the back seat of my car from NJ to MD to PA over the past 4 yrs and re set-up was NEVER a problem. I connected it to three different computes over the years, Windows 98 and XP, and tons of different software and hardware and the F60 never had a problem "adjusting". The only messages I've ever received from the F60 were "out of paper" and "ink running low" since I purchased it - except for about 3 paper jams! I'm reluctant to depart of it because it scans legal-size and the latest popular AIOs don't have that capability. I need an ADF and fax capability - those are the only reasons I'm going to replace it. Print quality I found was acceptable for my needs and photos were always outstanding using Canon's ink and photo papers - slow, but worth the wait.

"Problem Finding Hardware" on
Pros: I had this printer for 7 months and it started acting up. The drivers went out of wack somehow when I moved the damn thing very gently, all of a sudden, printer does not work!!I tried to reinstall drivers, but when I tried, new hardware wizard comes up,
Cons: I have to reinstall the entire Windows 2000 program for the drivers to be found!! All because the USB connection was accidentally unplugged/ messed up my printer port registry very easy and cannot fix it unless I install entire system from scratch!!! Ouc

"JUNK. Never is compatable with any of my programs ." on
Pros: Great having a product that is supposed to do so much.
Cons: This Canon is not compatable with any of the programs I install. Everytime I install a new program my f60 goes down. I am moving on now.

"better than epson cx6400" on
Pros: I've owned my Cannon F60 for over a year with no problems. My parents have an Epson CX6400. The Epson was defective and had to be replaced; it is also louder than the Cannon. The F60 is easy to use and I haven't had any problems with it.
Cons: It vibrates the desk when printing. It is a little bulky but so were all the other multifunctions when it came out.

"Out of the box it works flawlessly" on
Pros: Does everything I expected, and given that it now costs only $89 at Staples.com with free 2 day delivery, I don't believe you could find a better value for a quality Multi Purpose machine.
Cons: The LCD Display is not as bright as I would like it to be. And to fully use all the machines features properly you better take the time to read the 3 user manuals that are on the installation disk.
