Pros: Excellent print quality
Cons: Printing colors from scans were not accurate
Summary: I did a good bit of research, both on-line and in stores. For the price, the print quality was the best I saw. The color scan leaves something to be desired, but I primarily needed a printer. Set up and installation were easy as 1-2-3. The LCD display, while small, is very clear. The memory card slots are easy to use and very handy.
I am very pleased with this device, and recommend it if you are looking for a home printer. -

Cons: doesn't scan put does copy and print sometimes
Summary: I wanted a printer that would also scan infrequently. Took a couple of installs on my main computer and I gave up on my laptop.
Both systems running XP. If they needed to charge more to work that would be OK but this printer was a real mistake. -

Pros: I love the ablility to scan whole trays of photos at the same time and have the software recognize and save each individually. Good, reasonably fast for the home text/casual graphics printing.
Cons: Short life-span; 18 months for mine. Expensive ink; to replace the BW and color ink was 86% of what I paid for the machine in the first place.
Summary: We were able to archive our entire collection of paper photos in four nights using the "full platen" scanning ability. Even if you have multiple photos at a time on the scanner, it identifies them and saves them individually. The copier worked beautifully every time we needed it. The machine does seem to need regular recalibrating however to keep it's alignment.
After not using the machine for a week, I tried to use it and got a 'U051' error: "The printer cannot recognize the following ink cartridges...". According to Canon, this can be repaired...for approximately twice what was paid for the machine.
I would not recommend this machine. Shop around, our landfills can't handle what Canon dishing out. -

Pros: The potential that it might scan. It worked for 4 pages but is sputtering here and there to scan my next doc and has left me wondering, like an unreliable date, whether it is going to come through and SCAN.
Cons: Not working consistently- and for no apparent reason. If it produced an Error message then I might know to just 'give up.' But I continue to hold out hope and waste my time wondering if it will actually work.
Summary: Just scan. And if the product cannot scan, then please produce an ERROR. I dislike this product due to the waste of time trying to use it.

Pros: I was pleased with product.
Cons: It broke without warning for no apparent reason and my only option is to pay for repair or ditch it.
Summary: I was very pleased. Chose product for its scan resolution. It has worked very well until today. BAM! Now Error 5010. Canon told me I would have to pay to get it fixed at an authorized service center OR I could take advantage of their loyalty program. Not interested.
