"Got mine today for $49. Easy installation on 5 PC's." on by mdhunter2
Pros: It's a $49 printer, what do you want for $49? We have it in a central location as a family printer, copier and scanner. I like the feature set for the money even if the inks are a tad expensive. This is fine for printing web pages, emails, etc.
Cons: Wish it had an LCD display but it wouldn't be $49 now, would it? And I wasn't crazy that i had to initially had to use a USB cable to do the initial installation on the desktop PC before being able to set up the wireless part. No ethernet port.
Summary: The pros outweigh the cons by far in my opinion. Price, ease of setup and full feature set outweigh the little sluggish print speeds and less than stellar print quality as a photo printer. It will do what our family needs it to do and I look forward to seeing the Android app that will let us print from our Droids. Overall, we're very pleased.

"Only $50, wireless, easy setup, what do you need?" on by bcsmith4361
Pros: Ease of use, good looks, functions well. I also like how the tray opens when you print. Also, includes USB printer cable, which most printers don't include.
Cons: The lid and covers are flimsy, but you don't open it that often anyway.
Summary: This printer was bought to replace a Lexmark 305. The Lexmark had a more solid feel and printed very nicely, but could not//would not keep the wireless connection. It would not connect, or stay connected, and no amount of uninstalling/re-installing the program helped. It was a printer that I really liked, so I kept it for copies only, but needed to have something I could rely on.
The Canon was cheaper, and initially, before it was set up, I was afraid that it was going to be a pain to set up because the manual is rather redundant and leads from one step to another and starts to repeat the process ad nauseam. After software installation, I was not directed to one of the processes as the manual said would happen(connecting the printer with USB cable). So, I started software again and this time everything went perfectly. After a few test pages I concluded that I made a good decision-everything was perfect! Excellent printer and good buy!! -
"fantastic printer!!" on by ThatGuy90
Pros: *light weight, small and compact (only 11 pounds)
*fast printing and scanning times(scanning photos onto your PC)
*wireless :D
*printing quality is goodCons: Setting it up and using it can be difficult at first (if you are new to this kind of stuff).
(that's why it loses 1 star) it takes a little time to get use to it.Summary: i don't think anyone will be disappointed with this printer, it's a great product from a trusted company :P

"canon never disappoints with it's printer, but....." on by tlb7263
Pros: very good print, scan and copy abilities. bang for buck it's hard to beat
Cons: no memory card reader
Summary: I really like my new mp495 all in one. good quality prints, good copies and good scans. bang for buck in quality this printer is hard to beat. 'The one draw back is no memory card reader for my camera. If it had a memory card reader it would be hard to beat at any price for an entry level printer for home or small office use.
